Whew, I'm all caught up now! About time, it is already Monday night!
This weekend, Doug & I went to his parents' house so that he could practice his audition repertoire in front of a few live human beings. I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to get dressed up snazzy-ish and wear my newest thrifting find. I saw this little black silk jacket some time near the end of last year with a $40 price tag in it, and although it was adorable, I couldn't bring myself to buy it. Fast forward to last week, while I was out shopping with a friend, and lo and behold the jacket is still there, but it's on the sale rack and marked $10. Of course, I snapped it up right away! The body of the jacket is slubby black silk, and the edges are embellished with a line of seed pearls. The rest of the jacket is decorated with alternating embroidered chenille flower buds and more seed pearls. It's not a vintage piece, but the price and silhouette are just perfect.

What a tremendously pretty jacket - and such a great bargain to boot! I love pink and black together, too, which I think stems from my 80s childhood. :)
